Icy Strawberry Lemonade

As the days heat up, it’s hard to resist having an ice cream cone or a milkshake… and that kind of thing usually doesn’t turn out well, at least for the lactose intolerant. While this sweet fruit drink might not totally satisfy the ice cream craving, it’s cold and refreshing and will definitely do the trick if you’re looking for something sweet and slushy.


The sweetness of the strawberries is offset a little by the tartness of the lemon and vice versa, which makes for a great combination of summery flavors.


As an added benefit, it’s made of 100% healthy ingredients, so you don’t have to worry about overeating (drinking?) or a high sugar intake. Super tasty and really good for you? Sounds like a win. (Bonus: my brother liked this, so we know it’s a crowd pleaser.)



  • 2 cups halved strawberries
  • 1 ½ – 2 cups ice cubes
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 teaspoon honey


In a blender, pulse all the ingredients together until combined–the ice might stick a little, and if it does, just stop and reposition it so it blends.

If the mixture is too liquidy, add more ice; I would always err to the 2 cups side. If it’s too solid, just let it melt for a few minutes before serving.

Top with strawberry slices and serve.
